These are necessary if you are planning on running more than 15psi of boost with the Maserati head, or if you are replacing the headgasket on your 16v engine.  Since the headbolts are "torque to yield" that means they are designed for a 1 time use.  These studs can be used over and over again and are made from a special high strength alloy designed especially for RDI.
